I have finished a lovely new painting that is part of my urban faerie series. It is titled "Faerie Funk #2" & was created with oil paints on canvas measuring 8x10 inches.

I believe faeries are big part of our present day. Faerie spirit & lore can be seen every where so I wanted to represent that element of the faerie world. This sassy faerie was not meant to stay in the forest.

Took me long enough!

This image is created out of my avid fascination with Ukiyo-E style works from Japan. I am constantly looking at these works portraying a world so different from my own. I am awed by the people and creatures depicted in these works. I decided to take my own love of monsters, fashion, and these prints and the culture they represent and make some sort of semi-modern 'monster image' with a deep Ukiyo-E style. Two Oni (demons or trolls) are in accompaniment of a beautiful 'Oiran' with very eerie inhuman features, riding upon a dragon. Something I have wanted to create just for fun, I hope you enjoy this digital piece.

I know, it's been quite a while since I've posted on here, or even on LJ in general. 

But, I have a question for those of you more experienced in wingmaking and prop work, or at least those with a bit more a of a discerning eye.

Have any of you seen the movie Legend?


It has this gorgeous faerie character named Oona, who might be one of the best film faeries of all time, and her wings appear to be made out of some sort of rice paper like material or gauze, with no wire form.  I was thinking maybe glue or starch could produce that effect, and maybe small wires painted the same colour as the wings? Or used also a decorative vein structure?

Do any of you have any ideas?  I want to make some wings similar to hers for my next faerie event/costume and I wanted to ask all of you before I started experimenting.

A little while back I created a new Gelert because I wasn't have any luck finding a half decent named pet in the pound to zap. Well this Gelert really really likes being Gold. On 10 December he turned Gold. On 16 December he turned Checkered. On 17 December he turned back to Gold, and today he got another colour change, yep thats right another Gold. *shakes head* lol

I must take a break from retelling my life story.  I am experiencing my version of writer's block because of the emotional impact remembering has created.  Once again, thank you all for your support and kind words.  I feel change happening as these words come out. Change for the better.  A transformation of sorts.  For now, let's leave the story and go on a slightly different path, but one that connected at the same time.  What really matters?

Love.  A small word with a myriad of meanings.  One that brings us much joy and happiness on a daily basis, even if we don't recognize it as love.  Love is what connects us all at a higher level of consciousness and causes mankind to come together during unspeakable horrors and tragedies.  We can all feel it, but most often we tend to ignore it.  We are conditioned to put our heads down and trudge through life will no real joy for what we do.  Today, I am going to share what love means to me.  How I feel it.  How I experience it.  If you decide to comment on this, please share your experiences as well.  

First of all, love to me is something that is endless.  We all have infinite amounts of love to give during our lifetime(s).  Of course, all love is not equal.  I don't mean equal in the sense of more or less though.  It's like colors to me.  Different shades and variations.  For example, my love for Dawn is not equal to that of my love for ribs.  I love them differently, not one more than the other.  I love you baby!!!!!

Here is how I experience love:

Watching Arianna wrap her little hands around her momma's neck.
Seeing Elycia chase butterflies on a beautiful Spring day.  An endless smile on her face.
Watching Jenna grow up into the woman she is going to be.  Watching her be so helpful when nobody is watching.
Watching Camie sit by herself, playing and talking to her friends in her head.  Not a care in the world.  Not limiting her imagination.
Dawn's smile.  You know the one.
Seeing an older couple on a porch swing, his arm around her, her head resting on his shoulder.  Silently revisiting the memories they have shared.
A tree gently swaying in the breeze, singing it's soft melody.
Seeing a random act of kindness.  Knowing not everything is cold and calloused in this world.
The stark beauty of the desert.  A certain place saved me from myself once upon a time.
Mountains touching the sky. 
The soft touch of Dawn's hand on my cheek.  You are certainly one of my angels.
Sitting under the stars on a moonless summer night.  Eternity is within my grasp.  Creation is all around me.


These are just some examples.  My challenge to all of you is to find love every day.  Slow down just a little bit and take a look around.  You will be astounding by what you see.

I have had a rather  good couple of neodays!
Yesterday i found someone who offered me a very well (and lovely) named robot hissi with full casings for my mummy ruki, and THEN found someone trading an UC coconut jubjub! I offered a custom and didn't expect them to accept.... but they did! :D Someone has already offered me a mutant krawk for him, and i havnt even been advertising! My newest dream pet is a cross painted desert krawk, so hopefully i can find an offer of a krawk with a name i really love and then paint it! 
and TODAY i have made 1 million neopoints from selling off some of my halloween gallery! Taking me to a grand total of 4.1 million neopoints! :D the most i have ever had!
I am rather happy. hehe

I'm hoping to cheer myself up by doing a giveaway of cake items. I was planning on doing it yesterday (I wish I had!), but didn't end up having time. And since one of my items just was hit by sloth I should probably get on that! They're not extravagant but they are cute. I'm not sure how many I have, but I'll fill as many comments as I can!
